Mission

Ithemba Centre is a place where a program is offered to homeless persons – minimum 3 years on the street – for 6 months in duration.

This program focusses on drug abuse reduction and prevention, life skills teaching, skills development, spiritual development and family and/or community re-integration. Social services are offered and an exit plan is developed and implemented in thie 6 month period.

Facilities

The following facilities forms part of Ithemba Centre:

  • Accommodation: 6 beds for women and 34 beds for men
  • Ablution
  • Kitchen facilities and meals
  • Laundry
  • Skills development facilities like sowing room, vegetable garden and car wash.

Ithemba offers personal development in the mornings and skills development in the afternoons.

Get involved

  • Provide or sponsor ingredients for meals or toiletries,
  • Assist as volunteer in preparing food
  • Adopt a room – 4 people – for moral support and guidance,
  • Sponsor a bed for a person at R 1500 / month
  • Collect or mobilise collection of groceries.
  • Financial; sponsorship for our energy needs, programs, skills development projects, etc.
